FHAAR Board of Directors
The Fort Hood Association of REALTORS® is guided by the Board of Directors and specially formed committees in order to achieve its organizational goals in the most efficient manner possible.
FHAAR Committees
The Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® is also made up of various specially formed committees that are used to advise the Board of Directors. If you feel you could be an asset to the association, please see the various committees below.
Budget and Finance Committee
The Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® Budget and Finance Committee prepares, reviews, and monitors the annual budget to ensure responsible financial management of the Association. It evaluates funding requests, makes recommendations, and provides ongoing oversight to support the Association’s fiscal health.
Bylaws Committee
The Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® Bylaws Committee is responsible for reviewing and recommending changes to the Association’s bylaws to ensure they remain current, compliant, and aligned with the needs of the membership. The committee considers proposed amendments, prepares recommendations for the Board of Directors, and ensures the governing documents reflect best practices and legal requirements.
Community Affairs Committee
The Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® Community Affairs Committee is responsible for relationships in the area community. The goal is to support our community and raise public awareness of the Association and its support of property rights, the real estate profession, and the Association membership. They also plan activities and events for our adopted unit.
Education Committee
The Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® Education Committee takes responsibility for meetings sponsored by the organization. With the assistance of staff, the committee should plan cost-effective, profitable events that further the professional goals of the organization’s membership.
Executive Committee
The Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® Executive Committee handles the overall administration, structure, staffing, and documentation (e.g. constitution, mission) that guides the organization. Most bylaws allow the Executive Committee to make emergency decisions and to take care of issues that arise between board meetings. The executive committee is usually composed of the elected officers plus one or two key leaders — for example, the past president or the chairman of the convention committee.
Governmental Affairs Committee
The Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® Governmental Affairs Committee reviews proposed laws and rules, taking timely action to support or oppose issues that affect the organization and the profession. It organizes efforts to block unfavorable regulations and support favorable laws in state agencies and in the legislature, and often retains a professional lobbyist.
Hospitality Committee
The Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® Hospitality Committee organizes the general membership meetings, including the Christmas Gala. They obtain guest speakers for the membership meetings, provide refreshments/food and decorations for membership meetings, as well as obtain sponsorships and solicit the affiliate members for door prizes.
MLS Committee
The Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® MLS Committee represents the Association’s interests as a shareholder in the Central Texas MLS (CTXMLS). Working in coordination with the MLS Advisory Committee and the Board of Governors, the committee reviews MLS policies, gathers member feedback, and provides recommendations to ensure the MLS meets the needs of participants and subscribers.
Nomination Committee
The Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® Nominations and Elections Committee reviews and makes recommendations about individuals who are qualified and willing to serve on the board of directors. It ensures that the organization continues to operate smoothly during transitions of the organization’s elected officials, and may be asked to present written and verbal reports to the membership.
Technology Committee
The Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS® Technology Committee enhances member communication by managing digital platforms such as the website, newsletter, and social media. It ensures members receive timely, relevant information and resources through effective use of technology.
